**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a School Engagement Officer to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.

The School Engagement Officer plays an important role in positioning QUT as a university of choice through dynamic presentations and high-quality outreach activity including school visits, campus tours, regional markets, recruitment events and the START QUT program.

**About the Chancellery Division**

Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development. The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.

**About Marketing and Communication**

The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:
building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
engaging and recruiting future students
ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard

As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.

**What you need to succeed**

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree with subsequent relevant work experience.
- Excellent oral communication skills, in particular the ability to deliver dynamic presentations to engage a wide variety of audiences and to provide one-on-one advice to clients.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, including within teams, internal and external clients, suppliers and other staff within the University while developing positive working relationships.
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and provide a professional service within a busy customer-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated high-level written communication skills including the ability to write engaging content for a range of audiences to achieve organisational goals.
- Proven ability to contribute to and implement process improvements that support the service provided to prospective students and/or support the achievement of Departmental goals.

**Essential Requirements**

Current ‘C’ class (car) driver’s license, the physical ability to carry boxes of approximately 10kg weight, the availability to attend out of hours activities, and an ability to spend periods away from Brisbane.
