Load Control Operator

**JOB SUMMARY**

This role is responsible for performing all Load Control and flight dispatch functions on a shift basis. The position is responsible for achieving agreed operational targets and ensuring that completed work meets client expectations, contract requirements and Menzies standards:
**Key duties and tasks will include, but not be restricted or limited to**:
Main accountabilities include:

- Substantial experience with Menzies and or in the aviation Industry
- Has operational contact with client aircrew in providing loading control and briefing material
- Has operational contact responsibilities with Department of Agriculture & Water Resources, Customers, Australian Boarder Force, Security, Airport Owner/Operators, Stakeholders, etc
- Ground to air radio communication
- Prepare offload/onload reports for ramp staff (LDM's/CPM's/LIR's)
- Plan each flight with estimated freight/baggage as per airlines requirements
- Liaise with Cargo CTO's for uplift of cargo onto flights to ensure maximum capacity of the aircraft is used for the airline
- Calculate estimated zero fuel weight and communicate this to all applicable departments
- Print and prepare flight plans
- Weather and NOTAM information
- Organise departure briefing for outbound crew
- Liaise with crew and refuelling agent to coordinate the refuelling
- Send all load and movement messages as required
- Finalise flight and all paperwork and file all documents required
- Flight editing and checking
- Complete RSMS and Daily Movement functions
- Prepare General Declaration crew list
- Prepare and provide operational support for charter flights
- Advise ACC relevant flight information
- Prepare electronic and manual load and trim sheets
- Complete airline ULD stocktakes are required
- Ensure agreed operational targets are achieved and that completed work meets client expectations, contract requirements and Menzies standards
- Work proactively to identify and resolve any issues that may affect, delay or hamper a flight. Communicates these issues in a timely manner to the Customer Services and/or Ramp Service Supervisors
- Completes all administrative requirements at the end of every flight and actively seeks to minimise the workload of other shifts
- Remain current in airline requirements to maintain a valid load control licence/certificate
- Training and experience in applicable DCS/Load Control systems
- Obtain/Maintain Authority to Drive Airside
- Dangerous Goods Awareness training (will be provided by Menzies)
- CASA, or other similar body issued Load Control certificates
- Experience with airline load control systems
- Knowledge of aviation legislation, specifically flight planning, weather, NOTAM and load control legislation
- Understanding of the role of key bodies at airports (e.g: Department of Agriculture & Water Resources, Customers, Australian Boarder Force, Security, Airport Owner/Operators, Stakeholders, etc)
- Airline systems and Message printers
- Experience in using ground to air radio's; a Flight Radio Telephone Operator License would be an advantage
- Understanding of ULD's and in-hold system
- The ability to maintain load control licenses
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with all personnel involved in Menzies operations
- Is calm and controlled when working under pressure
