**The Role**

Part of our content strategy across SBS and NITV is the commissioning of engaging and award-winning programming that reflects Australia’s diverse and multicultural society. The purpose of this role is to generate and deliver contemporary programs of the highest editorial standard.

In addition you will be responsible for;
- Generating and delivering innovative, engaging, entertaining and award-winning content to NITV television and online '“ with emphasis on the commissioning of programming reflecting Australia’s diverse Indigenous cultures.
- Overseeing productions on behalf of NITV to ensure high editorial standards and the quality delivery of great ideas on time and to cost-effective budgets, ensuring value for money content.
- Assessing projects against commissioning criteria in a timely and efficient manner and against personal taste where necessary.
- Working in close collaboration with colleagues in the online and internal production division and with key external stakeholders to ensure the commissioned content always achieves its full potential by reaching the maximum audience.

**About you**

We’re looking for a highly creative thinker that is demonstrated by your ability to commission a range of distinctive television and online productions, including co-productions, which reflect the multicultural reality of Australia. Someone who has state or federal agency experience desirable. Full-time experience in Television scripted drama is also an advantage.

**Applicants must identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. SBS considers that being Aboriginal and/or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).**
