Customer Strategy and Technology (CST) provides integrated planning, development, delivery of transport assets and operations of transport services that customer’s value. We transform strategy into seamless transport networks and services, efficiently and effectively.

Customer Systems and Operations is responsible for the deployment of consistent operational systems, projects, and support across CST. The branch is responsible for managing the end to end creation of technological and communication networks to support business projects.

**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for Assistant Officer
- Operational Technology (OT) Networks to be a part of our Field Technology Network Team in Customer Strategy & Technology within Customer Systems & Operations. This role is responsible for receiving assigned network incidents and service requests from the service desk and ensure that they are resolved as quickly as possible in accordance with work instructions, service levels and priorities, to monitor and implement planned network changes and to undertake routine maintenance tasks through effective diagnosis, resolve problems to optimise the reliability and availability of the Operational Technology Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network platforms utilised by the Transport Management Centre (TMC) whilst adhering to meet TfNSW’s service requirements.

Reporting to the Manager Networks, your key accountabilities are to:

- Ensure the network environment operates effectively through:

- Prompt incident response
- Rapid return to service from incidents; and
- Low-impact technical change management.
- Implement and monitor performance of the Operational Technology MPLS network
- Assist in managing the refresh, upgrade and expansion of the Operational Technology network including the testing of hardware, firmware & networking software releases prior to deployment
- Maintain as built record and documentation. Assist in preparing relevant work instructions and knowledge base material for known errors and routine support tasks
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Support and execute strategies to maximise user satisfaction, promoting a culture of quality customer service
- Provision, document and troubleshoot the TfNSW dark fibre network including connections between TfNSW and other organisations and agencies

We are looking for a networking professional who has strong interpersonal skills along with a proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other support teams. It has to be someone who is wiling to learn and is keen on furthering their experience in networking

Experience in Software Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) multicast networks, AWS & Azure private clouds with direct connects will be highly regarded.

**Essential requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel within and outside of the Sydney M
