The Boarding Health and Wellbeing Administrator is accountable
and reports to the Deputy Director of Boarding and manages the
health and wellbeing needs of all boarding students. The Boarding

**Key Relationships**
Health and Wellbeing Administrator will work closely with all key
student services staff, teaching staff and boarding staff. All staff are
ultimately responsible to the Principal.

**_Position Objective: _**
The Boarding Health and Wellbeing Administrator is responsible for assisting with initiating, coordinating,
implementing and evaluating the health and wellbeing program for boarding students which includes the
provision of holistic care for boarding students. The Boarding Health and Wellbeing Administrator
recognises that health is not merely the absence of illness, rather a commitment to provide meaningful
wellbeing promotion.

The role will liaise with the Senior School Office, Wellbeing team and the School Health Centre staff in the
provision of holistic care that reflects the mental, emotional and physical needs of the boarders.

**_Key Responsibilities: _**
**1. Boarder Management**
- Deliver quality referral of ill and injured boarding students based on the requirements

established by School policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
- Educate, support, and manage boarding students with serious and chronic illnesses.
- Organise appointments for boarders with School Doctor/s and external specialists, as required.
- Liaise with School nominated Doctor/s to ensure all medical instructions are implemented in

accordance with approved Health Care plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with relevant staff and the parents of boarders in

relation to their child’s health and treatment.
- Inform the relevant Head of School and Director of Boarding when any boarders are taken/sent

to hospital or sent home for medical reasons.
- Liaise with Wellbeing team regarding boarder mental health and well-being issues.
- Meet as required with the Heads of Boarding in relation to student’s health and well-being needs.
- Provision of Health Risk Assessments for all students attending off site activities according to

plans.
- Liaise with the School Catering Manager in relation to special dietary needs of Boarders.
- Notify relevant School offices of any absence/movement of students.
- Be familiar with the School’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and mandatory reporting requirements.

**2. Health Centre Liaison**
- Manage the dispensing of medication to boarding students, ensuring accurate accounting and stock

records for all medical stores.
- Ensure appropriate controls over the dispensing of medication to boarding students who have written

consent from their parents or guardians.
- Ensure stocks of medications and dressings are maintained within the Boarding House.

**3. Medical Records**
- Maintain well documented records on all boarding students/staff who have sought a consultation in line

with legislative requirements.
- Keep medical records up to date, confidential and accurate.
- Manage and update health management plans for boarding students with medical needs (ie diabetes,

seizures, food allergies, asthma).
- Coordinate and prepare boarding student medical lists and distribute them as required throughout the

school.
- Complete incident reports on all accidents for boarding students presenting at the Health

Centre/Boarding House and assist with the corrective action process.

**4. Education**
- Assist Boarding Staff with ongoing support and guidance in relation to first aid.
- Work with relevant staff to develop Health and Lifestyle programs for boarding students and staff.

**5. Standards**
- Refer and comply with relevant legislation relating to child and adolescent healthcare.
- Advocate for and protect the rights of children and young people.
- Working collaboratively with the Health Centre, coordinate, organise and provide health promotion,

considering a whole of school community approach.
