**The Opportunity**

Orrcon Steel is looking for an **Operations Manager** to join our brand new Pipe and Tube mill team based in Unanderra. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally_ _recognised brands.

The Pipe and Tube mill in Unanderra is Orrcon Steels newest capability. Opening at the end of June this year, this cutting-edge facility represents a significant milestone in our commitment to innovation and excellence in steel manufacturing. Equipped with the latest technology, this is a unique opportunity to join our team.

This is a newly added role to our team structure. Still being in ‘start-up’ phase, you’re someone who is excited by the opportunity to impart your Manufacturing Excellence knowledge. You’ll enjoy navigating ambiguity to shape, design and embed standard operating procedures and metrics that enable safety, quality and solution-based outcomes.

**What Will You Do?**

Leading your team and collaborating with key stakeholders in the business, you will:

- ** foster a high-performing and inclusive team**: coach, retain and motivate the operations team, growing the team and uplifting their capability as our business and service offering expands
- ** achieve business objectives**:lead the operations team in the areas of safety, cost, productivity, DIFOT, CAPEX budget, maintenance and performance management
- ** achieve optimal safety**: embed and cultivate Felt Leadership values through a Zero Harm Safety Culture
- ** lead and promote an innovative culture**:identify new product and service opportunities to drive increased steel penetration in the domestic market

**More About You**

With significant experience in operations, manufacturing or distribution you will bring:

- experience in either directly or indirectly managing, leading and engaging a high performing team
- proven ability to continuously improve business processes
- a customer centric approach with an aptitude to translate customers key requirements into new and improved product service solutions
- an understanding of the linkage between production, supply chain and logistics streams and the ability to develop strategies which align our current capability with our customers and market requirements
- demonstrated commercial acumen including the ability to understand and manage budgets
