As Heavy Plant Coordinator you'll be part of a small team, within the broader Logistics function, responsible for our operational support across the NSW RFS and in collaboration with other agencies.
Our challenge is to ensure that we have sufficient heavy plant contractors registered and available to meet demands for heavy plant during fires and other emergencies, as well as all of the necessary support resources and systems. This role will have a focus in the training, assessing and mentoring of Heavy Plant Supervisors and Plant Operations Managers.
- Diploma level qualification, or equivalent expertise, in a relevant discipline (e.g. civil construction, plant operations, public safety).
- Certificate level qualification in training and assessment (TAE40116) or well advanced in the process of completing - desirable but not essential.
- Current Driver Licence and the ability to travel.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing industry best practice.
- Genuine appreciation and understanding of a volunteer based community service.
- Willingness to support operational management activities, consistent with skills and background, in periods of major fire activity.
