**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate leader to join our Maternity Services Team as a Joint Birth Suite Unit Manager. This role involves shift work and offers the opportunity to contribute to both clinical excellence and education within our Birthing Unit. You will work closely with our Maternity Postnatal Ward and Special Care Nursery, playing a key role in providing exceptional care. This position is ideal for someone eager to make a meaningful impact and help shape the future of our Maternity Services.

Your duties will include:

- **Clinical Leadership**: Lead a skilled team of midwives while ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to women and newborns across all shifts, including weekends and public holidays if needed.
- **Coverage**: Manage a balanced roster with flexibility to support all shifts and weekends if required
- **Education & Training**: Provide ongoing education, training, and mentorship to midwifery staff, fostering professional development and continuous learning.
- **Quality Improvement**: Drive clinical governance, ensuring safe, evidence-based care is delivered in line with best practices and regulatory standards.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and provide a supportive work environment for staff.

**Skills and Experience**
- Relevant registration with AHPRA
- Registered Midwife with significant clinical experience and leadership potential.
- Proven experience in a similar midwifery or management role (MUM experience highly desirable).
- Passion for education and mentoring staff, with a demonstrated ability to provide hands-on training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to lead by example, instilling a culture of care, professionalism, and innovation.
