**About BHP**:
At BHP we support our people to grow, learn, develop their skills and reach their potential. With a global portfolio of operations, we offer a diverse and inclusive environment with extraordinary career opportunities. Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.
Come and be a part of this success.
**About the Role**:
Going home safe remains our number one priority. While BHP’s safety performance has improved considerably over past years, an analysis of reported injuries and near misses with fatality potential showed there is more work to do.
Olympic Dam’s fatality elimination program is a step change towards our goal of zero fatalities. This program will deliver technology, engineering, infrastructure and procedural improvements that keep us safe.
Supporting the successful outcome of this program we currently have two opportunities working with the Gravitational (working at heights, dropped objects and lifting and cranage), and Crisis and Emergency Management portfolios. We are looking for someone to work with stakeholders and deliver on risk management improvements.
This is a fantastic opportunity to diversify your experience while using your current unique knowledge and skills. This role is offered in either Adelaide or Roxby Downs and will require occasional travel to site. Flexible working options will be considered.
In this role you will:
- Develop and update safety standards, procedures, and training documentation
- Lead engineering studies and pilots to determine the feasibility of technologies and solutions
- Initiate capital projects by scoping projects, cost estimating and prioritising projects that delivers maximum value
- Support BHP's Management of Change process to ensure changes are successfully embedded.
**About You**:
You will be a self-motivated professional with a solid record of accomplishment of achieving results.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Engaging communication and influencing skills, and be comfortable working with a diverse group of technical and operations professionals
- Technical writing and well-presented written presentation skills
- Experience with risk management
- Experience with project development (desirable)
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
**About Our Process**:
At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role. As part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate applicants suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and/or reference checks.
**Supporting a Diverse Workforce***:
The size and magnitude of our business not only provides significant opportunity for professional development, but also attractive salary packages with performance-based bonuses and a unique BHP employee share program.
