The Role
The Financial Planner will deliver the Fund’s financial advice offering and provide detailed strategic advice to members. The role may involve travelling to provide financial planning advice to members and presenting public and workplace seminars/webinars. Additionally, the position will also encompass the management of e-communications, outlining legislative changes and developments that may affect a client’s financial strategy.
**Key focus areas include**:
1. Develop effective relationship building, provide appropriate strategic recommendations and exceptional client service to members
Providing service to and building relationships with members to grow and retain the member base.
Providing tailored financial advice to a range of individual members by developing strategies and plans that meet each member needs face-to-face, virtually or over the phone.
2. Assist in delivering additional or ongoing advice to members through relationship building, appropriate strategic recommendations and exceptional client service
Servicing a client base from leads provided by the numerous channels throughout the organisation.
Providing tailored financial advice to a range of individual members by developing strategies and plans that meet each member’s needs face-to-face, virtually or over the phone.
3. Preparing and delivering education, advice and training for members
Delivering scaled advice to members may be required.
Training and supporting the customer relationship management team on the delivery of advice and education services may be require.
Coordinating and assisting in the delivery of member financial literacy programs in conjunction with the Fund’s customer relationship managers
4. Contributing to effective teamwork
Developing internal contacts and building trusted networks with both existing internal customer relationship managers and consultants and key external stakeholders.
Working closely with the outsourced paraplanners and the financial advice helpline.
Working with others to ensure the organisation and delivery of financial planning seminars and webinars.
5. Ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative compliance and standards
Developing internal contacts and building trusted networks with both existing internal customer relationship managers and consultants and key external stakeholders.
Working closely with the outsourced paraplanners and the financial advice helpline.
Working with others to ensure the organisation and delivery of financial planning seminars and webinars.
6. Working to identify and develop opportunities for the growth of NGS Super financial planning services
Identifying opportunities for growth particularly within the context of financial planning and advice.
Working to develop strong and effective relationships with members and employers to support growth.
Leveraging technological developments to deliver a creative and innovative approach to member education and advice.
**You have**:
Experienced and qualified financial planner with appropriate education, has successfully passed the Adviser exam.
Good understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework and ability to keep abreast of new financial planning initiatives.
Ability to maintain a current knowledge of the superannuation industry, general superannuation law and key features of the Fund.
A demonstrated commitment to achieving the needs of members and employers including ability to make ethical and member-focused decisions.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Outstanding communications, representation and presentation skills at member, employer and service provider levels.
Excellent attention to detail and numeric skills including ability to competently use financial planning software in the preparation of Statements of Advice.
Proven ability to work as part of an internal and external team including outsourced paraplanning services.
Maintenance of a current motor vehicle driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet the requirements of the role.
**Desirable**:
Philosophical alignment to the ethos of industry funds.
Previous experience in the superannuation industry and knowledge of general superannuation law.
Aged Care accreditation.
