About the role
We are looking to appoint Graduate Consultants into our Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney offices. These are excellent opportunities for recent graduates to build the expertise required to deliver a wide range of our solutions across all sectors of the Australian economy. Over time we aim to build your capability across the spectrum of our service offerings, including:
- providing analysis and advice on the risks to business under different climate change scenarios and make recommendations for adaptation strategies
- supporting clients in accessing funding for energy reduction projects including government funding and incentive schemes, third party finance and internal capital spend
- assisting with the delivery of energy procurement and carbon strategies from standard procurement to progressive purchasing to power purchase agreements and beyond
- undertaking site assessment and developing business cases to maximise the performance of new or existing sites, including on renewable onsite power generation, energy storage systems, energy efficient lighting and hot water systems, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), and other low carbon technologies
- assisting clients in inventory development and meeting their mandatory and voluntary reporting requirements under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act and National Pollutant Inventory as well as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for scope 3 emissions.
Our services
ERM Energetics has unparalleled experience working with large ASX-listed businesses to assess the impacts of climate change, including physical and transition risks, and identifying opportunities to enhance adaptation capacity.
Climate risk and resilience strategy development: Risk and vulnerability assessments including modelling asset-specific and supply chain risks using proprietary models, scenario analysis, and financial quantification - informing the development of strategies for resilience. Our team has experts across finance, climate science, economics, agricultural science, policy and governance. ERM Energetics is a strategic partner in the CSIRO’s national Climate Resilient Enterprise Mission.
Climate disclosures and transition planning: Mandatory disclosure support, including gap analysis and compliance roadmaps, target setting (eg SBTi) and transition strategy development. Whether scenario development, stakeholder consultation or opportunity modelling, we prioritise credibility in our analytical approaches, ensuring strategies are based on robust, transparent and auditable data.
Navigating carbon markets: Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) price forecasting, offset strategy development, project due diligence, market engagement and transaction support, leveraging ERM Energetics' Australian Financial Services License (AFSL).
Undertaking due diligence: Assessing potential physical and transition risks for investors and corporates on major investment decisions, including acquisitions of new businesses and investment in major infrastructure.
Who you are
- Tertiary education in engineering, environmental science, data science, economics or a related degree.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience.
- Capable of thriving in a consulting environment which requires the ability to simultaneously handle multiple project assignments and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient at multi-tasking, maintaining flexibility, and working independently with mínimal supervision.
- Enthusiastic and driven with the ability to be agile and innovative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and analytical skills, with experience in recording technical data and preparing reports.
- Dependable, with integrity, respect, a positive outlook, and a strong client focus.
