**About the role**:
Reporting to the head of department, the Fundraising Coordinator will support the fundraising team to increase philanthropic donations through individual giving, grants from trusts and foundations, and community fundraising challenges and events.
The Fundraising team works closely with researchers, the marketing team and volunteers, and utilises a range of digital platforms to maximise donations to support our research into the future.
Your work will range from communicating with donors, liaising with designers to create brochures, creating graphics or videos for social media to updating the database and website platforms, conducting desktop research and assisting with event organisation.
This position will work mainly from the office.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Assist with the organisation of community fundraising events (such as trivia nights and golf days), donor cultivation events, institute tours and external presentations.
- Undertake database entry, maintenance, research and generate accurate reports and lists for events, fundraising and communications.
- Proactively undertake desktop research to gather information about potential donors and assist with the development of PowerPoint presentations, proposals and reports.
- Take and distribute minutes for internal and external meetings, and provide assistance as needed with external stakeholder meetings.
**About you**:
Keen to make a difference in the world, you have a flair for organisation, pay close attention to detail, and have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
With a background in fundraising, marketing or events, you are comfortable using Office 365 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and have the experience or aptitude to learn how to use a range of digital platforms, including Raisers Edge, Funraisin, Campaign Monitor, Canva, WordPress and social media.
Ideally, you also have experience in liaising with designers and printers to develop printed and digital content, event organisation and finance administration.
Success in this role will require an ability to work with supervision in team settings, which may vary depending on the nature of the task at hand.
You will have a proactive and ‘can-do’ outlook, with a friendly and courteous manner. With your exceptional organisational and time management skills, you will have an ability to prioritise multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.

With guidance from the fundraising team, the incumbent is expected to ensure expectations are clarified before proceeding with tasks and suggest solutions to problems.
**Level of supervision and independence - Routine**
Position holder is told broadly what tasks to do, generally how to do them and when to have them completed.
The position holder can determine the steps or priorities to ensure tasks are completed on time, there is some scope to rearrange work routines as long as work is performed using established procedures.
Supervision every few days - quantity / quality of work output is routinely monitored.
Reporting to the head of department, this position will be delegated tasks and projects by fundraising team staff.
On a day-to-day basis, the incumbent is expected to manage their own work priorities to ensure the priorities of the team are achieved.
