As an Educator at **Guardian King Street**, it is your role to work as an active team member and provide a safe and stimulating educational environment which meets the requirements of the children and families in the centre. It is your role to encourage family participation in curriculum decision making and create a strong sense of belonging and team morale.

- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the Centre community
- Develop and implement an innovative early learning program reflective of current early years thinking and practice
- Document children’s learning and development
- Ensure compliance with the National Law and National Regulations
- Have sound knowledge of and demonstrate high-quality practice in line with, the National Quality Framework, that is, Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations, the National Quality Standard, and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Actively contribute to the self-assessment process and the strategies for continuous improvement (i.e. the QIP process)
- Actively contribute to the implementation and adoption of the Guardian Curriculum

**✨**Key Areas of Responsibility ✨**
Education and Care
- Work collaboratively with educators, children, and families to plan and implement an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documenting and evaluation in accordance with the National Quality Framework and the Guardian Curriculum
- Ensure a current educational program is visible in the Centre and on Storypark, for families to view and contribute their ideas and suggestions
- Ensure the program reflects Guardians vision and values, the Centre philosophy, and the Guardian Curriculum
- Actively contribute to the educational program, observations, and documentation
- Ensure all children participate in the educational program based on their knowledge, culture, ideas, abilities, and interests
- Acknowledge and respect diversity of all educators, children, and family cultural backgrounds and experiences
- Support children and their families during orientation, drop off and pick up times and significant dates or events
- Engage and interact with children at their physical level
- Extend children’s thinking and learning through intentional teaching strategies, inspiring environments, spontaneous play experiences and high-quality documentation
- Use positive guidance strategies to support children’s behaviour
- Ensure children are adequately supervised at all times to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Encourage children’s independent involvement in daily routines such as toileting, eating, dressing, and sleeping, and ensure these times are positive, and meet each child’s individual requirements
- Ensure children are dressed appropriately for all learning environments (indoor and outdoor)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment. Remove and report any dangerous or broken equipment to the Centre Manager in a timely manner
- Perform simple first aid when necessary and follow all policies and procedures relating to the safety and wellbeing of children
- Follow all Guardian Way Policies and Procedures.

**✨ To be successful you will hold -**
- Diploma level qualification in early years’ education
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework
- Experience working within the early years’ sector (desirable)
- Valid Working with Children’s Check or state-specific equivalent
- Current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificates
- An awareness of personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection laws
