**The Opportunity**:
The Internal Auditor will work collaboratively across Newcastle Anglican to conduct and report on financial, operational and compliance audits across Newcastle Anglican and its agencies. These internal audits will provide independent, objective assurance by assessing the adequacy, efficient and effectiveness of systems, controls, policies and processes throughout the Newcastle Anglican and its controlled agencies for governance and risk management with a focus on continuous improvement.

What we are looking for? Demonstrated experience in internal audit function. Undertakes financial, operational and compliance internal audits for Newcastle Anglican. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations with stakeholders and report on status. Prepare comprehensive audit reports with detailed outcomes and recommendations. Respond in a timely manner to all internal audit related queries Provide advice to improve the quality assurance process to support the leadership team in making informed decisions. Develop internal audit plans and engage with stakeholders to plan and conduct the audit.
About you? Experience working in a highly regulated industry. Ability to work in business partnering model yet maintain independence and objectivity from operational teams. Ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality and an understanding and commitment of professional conduct and professional boundaries. Qualifications in Commerce or Accounting or related discipline. A current Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children) & NDIS check. National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
