Your Opportunity
**As the Finance Officer you will be responsible for**:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the provision of advice regarding the day-to-day running of financial operations, accrual accounting, costings and financial analysis for the organisation.
This position reports to the Corporate Finance Manager.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the organisation's operational financial reporting systems by ensuring revenue and expenditure is correctly allocated to appropriate revenue and cost collectors.
Support the month end process, analyse the end of month data and prepare processing functions e.g. journal, accruals, prepayments and other necessary adjustments.
Maintain and evaluate administrative and financial recording and reporting systems and provide transactional advice to Business Unit Managers regarding budgetary process and financial transactions.
Generate timely financial reports and statements for the organisation in relation to team/unit revenue and expenditure performance and management reporting.
Prepare periodic reconciliations as required to ensure internal and external audit compliance.
Prepare purchase requisitions.
Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with legislative policy guidelines, practices and procedures within the organisation.
Contribute to the achievement of TAFE Queensland's quality policies by encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and supported by the adherence/development of quality system documentation.
Other duties as directed by management.

Demonstrated sound problem solving and conceptual skills including the ability to analyse complex issues and recommend solutions within tight time frames.
Highly developed written and interpersonal skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling behaviours and the provision of outstanding client service.
Highly Desirable Requirements
Possession of an appropriate qualification n Accounting or Commerce.
Three to five years financial accounting and systems experience.
