About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a General Skilled Worker to join the Gas Assets team at AGL Torrens Island Power Station.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting the overall Maintenance operations of AGL, you will provide frontline day to day repairs, inspection and maintenance on plant at AGL Torrens Island and Barker Inlet power stations as well as supporting the Services Team with general service-related activities and Main store in the day-to-day operations including the issuing and receiving of goods.

In addition, you will:

- Ensure the availability and reliability of AGL plant through delivering routine maintenance, cleaning and support to maintain the Assets and meet maintenance objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and proactively implement controls to mitigate risk whilst ensuring you and your teamwork in a safe and sustainable manner.
- Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to while meeting the organisations policies and standards for HSE Managements.

About You

Key to your success in this role, will be your experience in conducting routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs within a Power Station plant / heavy industrial environment. You will have a thorough understanding of routines, safety systems and isolation processes and the ability to develop work procedures to meet both short and long-term asset management requirements.

What you’ll bring to the table
- A safety mindset along with the capability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective controls.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn and understand and use new systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team player, demonstrating a commitment to achieving targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Confined space, Forklift license, Scissor and boom lift licenses and White Card.
- Basic rigging & dogging and LV Electrical Rescue tickets are advantageous.
