**The Role**
Enabling Force Posture in Australia has resulted in both Australia and the United States investing in infrastructure upgrades within Australia. Director General FPI is the sponsor for AUS funded infrastructure to support the FPI.

The Directorate of USFPI Infrastructure (EL2 led) within the Force Posture Initiatives Branch, is responsible for ensuring these projects are delivered in accordance with the Force Posture Agreement and supportive of FPI outcomes.

The Directorate of USFPI Infrastructure also works with US representatives to enable US funded projects to be delivered on the Defence estate in accordance with Australian Standards and Defence policies.

Additionally they will be required to identify process gaps and lead or contribute to resolution of issues around infrastructure projects required to deliver on USFPI commitments. Exceptional engagement, negotiation, and communication skills and detailed understanding of Defence infrastructure processes are critical for this role.

**About Our Team**
The Force Posture Initiatives Branch is responsible for managing the United States Force Posture Initiatives (USFPI), Australian Singapore Military Training Initiatives (ASMTI) and emerging initiatives with allies and partners in order to promote security within our region.

The United States Force Posture Initiatives (USFPI) is an extension of Australia’s existing Defence alliance with the United States.

The objectives of the USFPI is to improve interoperability between Australian and US armed forces, provide opportunities to engage with partners in the Indo-Pacific, promote regional stability, and better posture both nations to respond to contingencies in the region.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to undertake duties as a Deputy Director USFPI Infrastructure. Core duties include:

- High degree of coordination/prioritisation skills
- Directly support the Director USFPI Infrastructure including with the resolution of project related issues
- Strong interpersonal relationships skills and the ability to develop, maintain and build productive stakeholder relationships with various Defence stakeholders and US counterparts in support of advancing USFPI infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with ADF, APS and contracted personnel, Including participating, as a FPI Branch representative, at various infrastructure working level meetings in relation to USFPI infrastructure projects.
- Work collaboratively with Defence project sponsors, capability managers and delivery agents to ensure consideration and inclusion of US requirements in Australian projects.
- Highly developed writing skills. Including the ability to develop project artefacts for Departmental personnel up to and including SES Band 2.
- Manage/lead an APS6 Project Support Officer
