YMCA Vic Early Learning Centres (ELC's) are safe, supportive spaces offering high quality early learning education and care for children aged six weeks to five years old.

**About the role**

You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.

The role of Room Leader role will involve:

- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
- Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care

This is a full time opportunity at Mernda Early Learning Centre.

The hourly rate is $33.37.

**Qualifications required**
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children’s Services or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Working with Children Card

Mernda YMCA Early Learning Centre is a 104 place centre with an integrated 3 and 4 year old kindergarten. We support, nurture and encourage children's development through early education and evidence-informed practice that emphasises discovery and adventure.
