**About the role**

You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.

The role of Room Leader role will involve:

- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
- Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care

This is a full time opportunity at Mernda YMCA Early Learning Centre with an hourly rate of $31.78.

**Qualifications required**
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children’s Services or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Working with Children Card

**About the Centre**

We are a 104 place Early Learning Centre with an integrated 3 and 4 year old kindergarten. plus We support, nurture and encourage your child's development through early education and evidence-informed practice that emphasises discovery and adventure.

Our culturally diverse service offers a welcoming and supportive team, induction process, onsite parking and a large open kitchen and staff room facilities.

We work closely with the local community to ensure that we are providing the highest possible care to all children within our service, this includes not only our long day care facility but also our onsite 66 place Sessional Kindergarten which we operate on behalf of Whittlesea Council. We are lucky to have been built on the same footprint as Mernda Park Primary School and Mernda South Maternal Child and Health.
