Industrial Designer

COLAB DESIGN GROUP is a leading creative design and build company based in Sydney's inner west, with a focus on Experiential Events, Custom Exhibition Stands, Commercial Interiors and Pop Up Brand Space Design.

We are a team of designers, thinkers, creators and builders known for high quality and award-winning innovative designs and projects. We are expanding our team and currently looking for a talented Junior Interior or Industrial Designer with 1+ years’ experience for a Full Time Position and a Part time Position.

Remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience.

As a Junior-Mid Industrial Designer, you will be involved across all stages of projects, assist with collaborative design and 2D and 3D CAD detailed documentation to onsite build visits.

The Role Will Involve:

- Interstate Travel monthly to supervise build and dismantle of projects.
- Some weekend work for install and bump out of projects.
- Some evening work for install and bump out of projects.
- Assembling look & feel inspiration boards, material & finishes boards, and graphic presentations.
- Interpreting client briefs into custom design concepts.
- Producing 2D Plans and 3D Modelling to 3D CAD Drawings.
- Communicating client concepts and ideas into designs
- Creating high quality 3D Renders and Presentation Documents.
- Creating 2D detailed construction drawings for fabrication.
- Meeting with clients to discuss stand requirements & present designs
- Love of all things design, particularly Experiential Design, Exhibitions and Events and Custom Displays.
- Design flair with an understanding of cutting-edge design.
- 1+ years of experience within the Interior Design, Exhibition Design or similar design fields
- Must be highly skilled and fast in AutoCAD 3D Modelling and 2D Plans.

NEED TO BE AN EXPERT IN AUTOCAD 3D and 2D - NON NEGOTIABLE
- Must be experienced in 3D Studio Max - Rendering in VRAY
- Experienced in 2D and/ 3D CAD documentation for construction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good hand sketching and drawing skills.
- Experience in CNC and/or wide format printers will be highly regarded
- Experienced with different materials and building methods and processes
- A valid driver’s license and car.
- Exposure to local suppliers, sourcing, specifying and scheduling materials, systems, products & furniture items.
- Exposure to local fabrication, construction and joinery detailing.
- Exceptional time management skills and an understanding of prioritising tasks.
- Team player and work well under pressure, sometimes to very tight deadlines.
- A self-motivated focus to deliver to tight deadlines, including across multiple projects at one time.

**Salary**: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
