**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with journalists, editors, designers and illustrators to create engaging visuals that enhance our stories.
- Attend daily news conferences and collaborate with the editorial team to identify design needs for upcoming stories.
- Oversee the design consistency for social media and AFR brand extensions, ensuring alignment with our brand standards across online platforms.
- Produce original concepts and designs that resonate with our audience.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in digital design, preferably with a few years in a media or publishing environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong illustration skills and the ability to create cohesive digital artwork.
- Experience interpreting data to create visually compelling narratives.
- Knowledge of current trends in digital design and a passion for the news industry (experience with cross-platform publishing is a plus).
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
