**About the role**
- The Risk and Compliance team has an exciting, permanent opportunity for an experienced and strategic **Business Resilience Manager** to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide business resilience strategies and frameworks. This critical role is responsible for ensuring Queensland Rail’s resilience capabilities are robust, aligned with industry standards, and integrated across all business units.
- Reporting to the Group Senior Manager Risk and Compliance, the Business Resilience Manager will work closely with stakeholders across all levels and functions to drive a proactive and coordinated resilience agenda and deliver outcomes that support the organisation’s strategic priorities.
- Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide Business Resilience frameworks, including policies, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities to ensure alignment with business strategy and critical operations.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify critical business functions, dependencies, and potential disruptions.
- Manage crisis and incident response frameworks, including scenario planning, coordination during incidents, and post-incident reviews.
- Partner with risk, compliance, technology, and operational teams to integrate resilience practices across the organisation.
- Facilitate regular resilience exercises and simulations to test plans, raise awareness, and enhance organisational capability.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments to ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 22301, SOCI Act 2018).
- Ensure compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (SOCI) and related requirements for Queensland Rail.
- Provide regular reporting on resilience maturity, capability gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement to executive leadership and governance committees.
- This is a full-time, **permanent**position based in Brisbane CBD. The role offers a competitive remuneration, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
**About You**
- We’re looking for an accomplished resilience or risk professional with demonstrated experience developing and embedding enterprise-wide resilience strategies in complex environments. Your expertise spans business continuity, risk assessment, and incident response, and you bring a thorough understanding of regulatory standards relevant to critical infrastructure.
- You are a skilled communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. You thrive in a dynamic environment, take initiative to identify areas of improvement, and can translate strategy into practical action that strengthens organisational resilience.
- Key requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar resilience, risk, or business continuity leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of business resilience frameworks, ISO 22301, and the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and incident management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and build resilience capability at scale.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and reporting skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and governance committees.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management, business continuity, security, or a related field (preferred).
