**Our Quality & Safety Unit**

Under the leadership of the Executive Director Quality, Safety and Risk and working closely with key stakeholders, our Quality & Safety Unit supports our program leaders to embed strong standardised clinical governance processes.

We now have a great opportunity for an experienced clinician with a flair for effective change management, to join our team in a meaningful leadership role. This role will be appointed on a permanent, full-time basis.

**About the role**
- Reporting to the Director Quality & Safety and working closely with the division leadership team, our team of Quality Managers provide coordinated support to facilitate strong, standardised clinical governance processes across Monash Health’s clinical programs. This role has specific responsibility to support the Monash Medicine, Monash Medical Centre and Moorabbin Hospital Division. Your key responsibilities will include:
- providing effective leadership in quality, safety and innovation;
- working closely with senior clinical staff to ensure the identification of risks; embedding of continuous improvement and the delivery of standardised care; and
- contributing to service planning activities.

This role has no direct reports and requires a person with effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

**About you**

You are a team player, experienced in embedding National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards and in identifying and implementing improvement initiatives. You can demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others, including those over whom you have no direct line authority, to implement changes to clinical practice where these are warranted. Your clinical background and exceptional interpersonal and engagement skills enable you to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

**You have**
- a Bachelor degree in a health discipline
- a clinical background and a demonstrated strong understanding of clinical governance;
- proven experience in:

- quality and risk management within a healthcare setting;
- implementing clinical quality improvements; and
- implementing the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards
- a positive attitude in facilitating change and adopting new concepts supported by demonstrated change management capabilities;
- an understanding of a just culture; and
- excellent report writing skills.

A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory requirements for this role.

Experience in both project management and in incident reviews, particularly using root cause analysis methodology, will be advantageous. A higher qualification in health, quality or business management or progress towards same will be highly regarded.
