**About the role**:

- Assisting all staff to understand and fulfil their responsibilities related to WHS.
- Monitor ‘high risk’ sites and analyse workplace incidents to identify and provide advice regarding trends and emerging issues to be addressed.
- Provide assistance and advice in the investigation of workplace incidents.
- Maintain quality control records and evidence of WHS Management System improvement initiatives, projects, reports, activities and other related actions.
- Distribute WHS information in order to ensure all stakeholders are well informed and are kept up to date.
- Identify operational issues affecting the WHS and recommend strategies to address identified issues
- Injury Management system in achieving legislative requirements and improved performance standards and initiate improvement strategies.
- Assist managers to identify, assess and control WHS hazards and risks effectively through an integrated risk management approach and in accordance with legislation and policy.
- Administer Council’s external personal and property damage claims: investigation of damage and liability claims and collate information for the LGMLS.
- Provide backup support to Team Leader HR in the monitoring and handling workplace injuries and Return to Work claims.

**About you**:
Experienced in Worth Health and Safety, you will have relevant industry knowledge and experience, including:

- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice
- An understanding of the Local Government Act and Council Functions
- A minimum of Certificate IV in WHS or relative demonstrated experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure, and prioritise to meet critical deadlines
