Teacher - Sunshine Campus

**Role Description/Criteria**

In 2025, the newly named Saints College *- Sunshine Campus, currently St Joseph’s School, is seeking an experienced Teacher to join their school community.

Since 2012, we have led the way in radically inclusive education, supporting students with diverse challenges. We are an inclusive school for 12-25-year-olds seeking an alternative to mainstream education. Our environment celebrates all abilities and backgrounds, providing transformative learning experiences catering to individual needs.

We operate multiple campuses located in Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. In 2025, we will expand our offerings with the opening of three new campuses in Fitzroy North, Sunshine, and Bungaree, as part of our growth strategy to establish additional campuses in the future.

The young people we serve often face significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges, which demand unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.

**Sunshine Campus**:
The Sunshine campus will open its doors in 2025, with an anticipated enrolment of up to 50 young people, with the aim to support young people who have disengaged from mainstream education and who are involved with the justice system. The campus will focus on senior secondary, including the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Pre VCE VM.

The campus will be co-located at the Visy Cares Hub, which is a service for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people from Melbourne’s North-West region. The Hub provides a range of services for young people who may present with significant mental health concerns, a disability, involvement with youth justice or Victoria Police, or who may have been impacted by issues such as family violence, significant bullying or substance abuse issues.

St Joseph’s Sunshine aims to work in partnership with other essential services at the Hub for at-risk young people, with the aim to increasing connections and support for vulnerable young people and families, not just in education but with other important services and organisations.

**The Role**:
It is an exciting time to join St Joseph’s as we are experiencing a period of substantial growth.

We are looking for a full-time Teacher, to join our team at St Joseph’s Sunshine. You will be employed as an ongoing basis, commencing in Term 1 2025 and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.

**You will need**:

- Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty.
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Demonstrate a high level of collaboration in a flexible classroom setting.
- The ability to form strong and meaningful relationships with students, parents, allied professionals and the wider community.
- Demonstrate creative and innovative teaching practices to provide rich learning opportunities for all young people.
- Have experience in positive behaviour support models.
- The ability to inspire and engage young people.
