**About the School**:
Stretton State College Stretton State College is a high performing P-12 school located on the Southside of Brisbane (approximately 35 minutes from the CBD) comprising two campuses with a student population of nearly 3500 students. We have a strong sense of tradition with excellent parent involvement and strong links with the local community. The Junior Year Prep-6 campus known locally as the Gowan Campus and Senior Year 7-12 campus known locally as the Illaweena Campus occupy nearby sites.

**About the Role**:
The Canteen Supervisor is responsible for the profitable management and operation of the school canteens located on each campus and shall work closely with various stakeholders and report regularly to the Business Manager regarding all canteen issues including work, health and safety issues.
The Canteen Supervisor will support and follow the Department of Education 'Smart Choices - Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Schools. Menu options should always encourage healthy eating habits in our students.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Planning, organising, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including daily record-keeping, opening and closing the canteen.
- Providing leadership to canteen employees and volunteers to ensure the delivery of an affordable food service to the school community.
- Ordering, purchasing, and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
- Ensuring all canteen workers including volunteers are familiar with correct food handling and hygiene practices in line with relevant legislation and use food preparation and food handling skills to minimise waste.

**Mandatory requirements**:

- A food safety competency/certificate
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
