About the roleThe Principal Project Officer supports the implementation of the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline, P-10 Australian Curriculum and Senior syllabuses by providing quality advice to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment to teachers and other stakeholders throughout the education sector in Queensland. You'll bring to the role experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, and skills to work with a range of stakeholders across education.
About the teamThe Curriculum Services Division develops guidelines and syllabuses, assessment and provides advice, resources and professional learning to support teachers and other stakeholders throughout Queensland. You'll work within the Policy and Resource Unit, K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch and also work with colleagues within the Division on K-12 projects.

**Your key responsibilitiesIn this role you will**:

- participate in project teams to provide policy advice, develop resources and professional learning related to the implementation of the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline, P-10 Australian Curriculum and Senior Syllabuses
- develop and revise resources, and plan and present professional development to support schools to implement the K-12 curriculum and assessment and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
- provide advice on emerging educational matters for K-12 students, including Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students
- provide expert advice to Managers and the Director on issues related to curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment, including prepare briefings and correspondence
- deliver projects within timelines, using allocated resources
- consult with, and engage a range of stakeholders to inform the development of curriculum, advice, resources, and professional learning
- liaise professionally with educational agencies on projects.

Mandatory Requirements
- It is a genuine occupational requirement for this role to be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as per Section 7 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 for the purpose outlined in Section 25 of the Act
