**Salary Classification**: Medical Physics Specialist Accredited Year 1-5
**Remuneration**: $64.02-$97.23 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging options designed to reduce your taxable income.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Calvary Mater Newcastle’s Department of Radiation Oncology is NSW’s largest regional specialist radiation therapy centre. It offers world-class radiation therapy using precision technology to deliver the best available treatment to patients.
The department has five TrueBeam linear accelerators, a dedicated CT, MRI, kV and brachytherapy units. The department has a strong track record of innovative development and research from the clinical medical physics team. This includes both technology-based research and clinical trials (with TROG co-located on site).
The Medical Physics Specialists (MPS) will join a team of 7.5 Medical Physicists, 1.5 Physics Assistants and 2 Physics Registrars along with a dedicated Research Physicist, MRI Physicist, and Software Developer.
Key Responsibilities
Participation in staff education, training and clinical research projects.
Driver for safe implementation and testing of new technology and techniques in the department.
Planning and management of multi-disciplinary projects to improve treatment quality and efficiency.
Application of physics and mathematical skills to solve clinical problems to ensure and advance care.
Provision of high-quality medical physics services including support for imaging, treatment planning, linear accelerator quality assurance, and patient treatment verification.
What you bring
Demonstrated track record of successful clinical project development and completion to a high standard.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
A post graduate degree in medical physics and a first degree in a physical science to meet the requirements of the Australian Education International-National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition.
ACPSEM Accreditation, UK IPEM/Clinical Scientist Registration; ABR/ABMP/CCPM Certification; or those due who have passed the final written examination for ACPSEM certification in Radiation Oncology.
