The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works collaboratively with the Allied Health Professionals across all funding streams to provide community
- and centre-based services to clients of Kate Li Psychology. AHA will have a clear scope of practice specific to their role. The role may change depending on the needs of our clients and organization. This role will also assist in administration requirements and daily clinic operations.

Service delivery
- Provide assistance to allied health professionals in planning, preparing, implementation, evaluating and reviewing activities required for individual therapy, groups and programs.
- To support the allied health professionals, conduct home visits and carry out tasks as requested by clinicians.
- Conduct follow up phone calls to clients and other stakeholders in relation to their care plan/ treatment plan.
- Other service delivery tasks as directed by the allied health professionals.

Administration
- Timely and clear written documentation of clients’ treatment progress and goals.
- Timely verbal or written handover to allied health professionals.
- Assist with administration and office operation requirements.
- Maintaining clients’ files.
- Support the allied health professionals with the supervision of allied health assistance students.
- Other administration requirements required as directed by the allied health professionals.
- General office maintenance tasks such as keeping the office clean, safe and organized.

Quality and risk:

- Develop information and training resources for clients in conjunction with allied health professionals.
- Reporting incidents, feedback and complaints to the clinical director.
- Participating in other quality improvement activities as directed by allied health professionals.

Personal accountability:

- Compliance with Kate Li Psychology’s values, code of conduct, policies and procedures and relevant government legislation and standards where relevant.
- Cooperate with strategies to actively ensure the safety, protection and well-being of children who come into association with us.
- Ensure appropriate use of resources.
- Work collaboratively with other employees and external stakeholders in accordance with the practice’s values and professional standards of behaviour.
- Actively participate in initiatives to maintain, build upon and promote a positive and collaborative workplace.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, and health and safety of others (to the extent required).
- Promote a positive safety culture by contributing to health and safety consultation and communication.
- Promptly respond to and report health and safety hazards, incidents and near misses to line management
- Attend mandatory training sessions (i.e. equal employment opportunity, health, and safety) and mandatory training specific to position.
- Declare anything that you become aware of through the course of your engagement which may impede your suitability to work with children, young people, or/and our clients.

Child Safe

**Essential Requirements**:

- Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
- Current Police Check
- A full driver’s license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
- First Aid & CPR Training or willingness to obtain
- The right to live and work in Australia long-term
- Currently working towards or qualified with a relevant disability or health qualification such as Occupational Therapy, Teaching, Psychology, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Disability Services, Community Services, or Early Childhood Education. Or Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant Qualification and equivalent.

**Desirable Skills & Experience**:

- Effective communication skills, including written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skills in teamwork and collaborative practice
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- A demonstrable passion for working with children and young people
- Experience with and/or familiarity with a range of disabilities or challenges such as ASD, ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, physical disabilities, mood disorders and behavioural challenges
- Strong problem solving skills
- Understanding of basic behaviour training principles, and ability to speak mandarin/Cantonese are desirable.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
