**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Research Fellow in Transport Operations and Control to join School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

**What you need to succeed**
- Doctoral Qualification: Completion of a Ph.D. in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Research Expertise: Demonstrated research experience in one more or more relevant research fields such as motorway operations and control, traffic management, transport engineering, network optimization, and transport modelling.
- Publication Record: A strong publication record in high-impact journals showcasing research productivity.
- Modelling and Simulation Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in using modelling and simulation tools for traffic operations, such as Aimsun or SUMO. Strong coding skills in Python (or similar languages) for managing large datasets, developing custom models, visualization, and automating analytical processes.
- Optimization Methods Knowledge: Experience and understanding of optimization techniques for traffic control (e.g., signal timing, ramp metering) and operational efficiency.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the capacity to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
