**About the Opportunity**:
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology currently presents an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join their Molecular Pathology Department as full-time and part-time Laboratory Assistants, becoming valuable members of the Molecular Genetics and NIPT team at their state-of-the-art Bowen Hills Laboratory.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling specimen reception duties within the Molecular Genetics and NIPT sections. The position is Monday to Friday, with the potential for rostered weekend shifts if needed. Shift times fall within the range of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and weekday shifts may commence between 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

In addition to weekday shifts, you may also participate in public holiday rosters as required to maintain seamless laboratory operations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Facilitating specimen login
- Performing DNA/RNA extraction (both manual and automated)
- Efficient specimen retrieval, processing and storage
- Preparing reagents for testing
- Operating and maintaining specimen-handling instruments
- Assisting with various general laboratory tasks
- Undertaking administrative duties, including clinical data entry and addressing telephone enquiries
