A core value of The Salvation Army (TSA) is to support the basic needs of individuals and communities whilst making a positive difference in the world. The volunteer Community Fundraiser Coordinator provides administration support to The Salvation Army St Kilda Chapel Corps including assistance to collect for the Red Shield Appeal and Christmas Appeal, constructing rosters and sourcing volunteers to fill the positions in order to raise much needed funds.
Role Tasks- Assist with the development and implementation of organisation-wide approved fundraising strategies through campaigns or donor management.- Actively support the continuation of existing community partnerships and seek to form new relationships with community groups.- Construct rosters and maps for volunteers across all locations and communicate this to all relevant parties.- Ensure that mission volunteers are engaged and recruited as per plan.- Maintain mission volunteer records and general administration duties.- Ensure agreements with local councils and/or shopping centres are in place.- Visit community spaces in the mapped area allocated to you. Create rosters and maps for volunteers.- Opening all fundraising campaign mail- Data entry of information on fundraising database- Assist with organising training-
- Typing of documents & preparing spreadsheets
To succeed in this volunteer role you will have a positive and friendly disposition and be a quick learner, have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and be an efficient typist. You will have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You will maintain confidentiality when handling information, ensure the office is well presented and complete tasks to a high standard. You will be reliable, trustworthy and respectful of the differing views and rights of others and be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
Time Commitment- 2 days per week - as agreed with Manager.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements for the Role- Experience in a relevant field highly regarded- Experience in administration and the use of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
Mandatory Requirements of the Role- Complete TSA volunteer registration process, induction modules and any other training as required (e.g. Child safe organisation induction).- Current Criminal History Check (Police Check) and integrity checks as required.
