**The role**:
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for functional leadership of commercial management across Liveable Water Solutions (LWS). The purpose of this role is to promote, encourage and assist senior management and project teams through innovative contracting, ensuring compliance to legislation and Australian or relevant Standards / Code of Practice.
This role ensures the Contract Partnerships are effective, constructive and achieving beneficial, fair and sustainable outcomes with best practice quality functionality with innovation and consistent performance. This role also provides commercial and contractual advice, guidance and education with respect to commercial management of multiple bespoke planning, design and delivery contracts to delivery managers, planning managers, project managers and staff at all levels through the tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation, contract award and delivery phases.
**Who are you?**:
The following key skills, knowledge and experience will also ensure success in this role:
- 5 years experience in commercial management role.
- Experience with a variety of contract forms, for example D&C, Construct Only, Alliance, JV, ECI etc. Experience with the NEC suite of contracts would be valuable.
- A collaborative management style to build a close, outcome focused team in a matrix structure environment.
- Demonstrated strong commercial acumen, leadership and negotiation skills.
- Advanced skills in procedures for contract administration, general business administration and project management.
- Reporting and compliance with respect to commercial performance, contract documents, legislation and Australian or relevant standards / code of practice.
- Understand scope of works for water, sewer, and treatment projects including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Skill in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
- Experience in interpreting contract clauses and drafting appropriate commercial clauses.
- Ability to manage ambiguity to solve complex challenges at senior organisational levels within a regulated environment. Meets challenging business objectives, resolving conflicts to the mutual benefit of all parties.
- Extensive financial and business acumen. Significant understanding of governance of performance reporting and regulatory framework.
