**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Officer to join the Developmental Imaging and Genetics and Development Groups at MCRI to work on a large, international collaborative project examining brain development in children with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). In concert with project partners based at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA and the University of Manchester, UK, the Research Officer will lead the curation, quality control, processing and analysis of a large database of clinical MRI scans acquired in children with NF1. Based within the Developmental Imaging Group at MCRI, the Research Officer will have access to dedicated high-end computational resources, image analysis expertise and close collaborations with a network of clinical teams and paediatric researchers across the wider Clinical Sciences Theme.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Quality assurance and management of large neuroimaging datasets, including handling of potentially sensitive clinical data
Development of analytical methods to examine brain development using paediatric MRI scans
Takes leading role in dissemination of findings though publication and presentation at internal and external academic meetings
Computational and programming skills (e.g.; Python, git) and familiarity with neuroimaging analysis software and pipelines
**What we need from you**:
Relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification and, if applicable, relevant postdoctoral experience
Essential research experience in high-throughput neuroimaging analysis
Experience with clinical MRI data and PACS systems, DICOM conversion and file management
Computational and programming skills (e.g.; Python, git) and familiarity with neuroimaging analysis software and pipelines
