An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Manager to join ConnectSydney Team based in our Rockdale office
About the Role

The Safety Manager provides management and consultancy support to the Business Managers and Site Safety Personnel. Promote continuous improvement and compliance with the requirements of ConnectSydney.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Rockdale

Reporting Line: HSEQ Manager

Key Responsibilities

This opportunity will suit a highly motivated and outcome driven individual who has a passion for delivering positive client outcomes, and a knack for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Educate all employees on the ConnectSydney values for safety.
- In collaboration with the Business Manager/ Project Manager and Site Managers, lead the implementation accredited HSEQ management system..
- Assist in assessing HSEQ Management Systems of contractors
- In collaboration with Business Manager / Project Manager and Site Managers, develop, implement and maintain an effective HSEQ Management System; measure and report on the achievement of objectives and targets.
- In collaboration with Business Manager / Project Manager and Site Managers, implement an effective HSEQ assurance program to provide assurance of regulatory compliance and maintain currency of all associated documentation.
- Monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
- Identify and implement safety initiatives to improve culture and business practices.
- Assist with Tender Development in relation to HSEQ requirements.
- Provide specialist technical advice and guidance to line managers, HSE representatives and employees.
- Develop and implement practices that improve HSEQ performance.
- Lead and coach safety professionals
- Conduct site inspections to verify implementation of safe working practices

About You
- Tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience in safety management
- Auditor qualifications in OHS, Environment & Quality discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a construction maintenance industry.
- OFSC Experience and Knowledge is desirable
- Experience with ISO45001 principles is desirable.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
