As a member of our Site Technical team, the **Quality Assurance Technician (Casual)** plays an essential role in ensuring that all our products meet food safety standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

This position will suit someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining high food safety and quality standards in a busy production environment.

**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Assist in maintaining and managing the site’s **HACCP Food Safety Program**, ensuring documentation and processes are kept up to date.
- Conduct regular **quality checks and inspections** of products during and after production to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Work closely with production staff to address and resolve any quality or food safety issues promptly, ensuring production runs smoothly.
- Monitor and report on **Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)** compliance throughout the site.
- Support the introduction of new products and packaging by conducting quality testing and providing feedback to relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date records of all quality control activities, including product checks, temperature records, and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in **internal and external food safety audits**.
- Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Assist with the calibration and upkeep of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Manager and site team to **promote a strong food safety and quality culture**.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

- Qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience.
- 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to food safety and quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
