**About Steps to Starting School** In the Raymond Terrace and Tea Gardens region, KU Children’s Services is collaborating with The Smith Family to deliver the transformative "Steps to Starting School" project. This initiative, part of the Communities for Children program and funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, aims to equip young children with essential skills for a successful start in kindergarten. Steps to Starting School" focuses on children aged 3 to 5 years, providing a nurturing and supportive environment. Families benefit from personalised, one-on-one support, ensuring that each child is ready to engage confidently and effectively with their school environment. This targeted program is designed to foster a positive early educational experience, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and success. **The Role** You'll be working at Tanilba Bay Public School on **Wednesdays**and Tea Gardens Public School on **Thursdays**, completing a **6-hour shift (8:30am-2:30pm) during school terms**. As a Family Worker, in the 2 hour sessions, you'll focus on empowering parents and carers to support their child's development and ensure a smooth transition to school. Your role will also involve contributing to the development of training resources for the community and education sectors. In this position, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team of early childhood educators and speech pathologists and have access to a wealth of KU resources and professional support.
