**Job Description**:

Every month, 12.8 million Australians trust us to deliver breaking news, investigative journalism and unmissable analysis on the issues that matter.

We’re looking for a talented Marketing Automation Manager to deliver and enhance our lifecycle, marketing automation and personalisation campaigns. This role is to help grow and retain our subscriber base and achieve revenue targets for our subscription mastheads.

You will be responsible for the execution, build and maintenance of our marketing communications, using Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ensure that the execution meets best-practice standards in developing innovative solutions to meet business requirements.

You will be our audience expert, responsible for creating and maintaining data extensions and performing the appropriate quality assurance checks. You will manage data imports and integrations, and identify opportunities to improve our marketing effectiveness with additional data sources, in consultation with your colleagues in the wider Subscriptions & Marketing team and working closely with other internal and external stakeholders.

**In this role you will**:

- Build and manage multi-channel automated marketing campaigns using SFMC tools including journey builder, automation studio and mobile studio.
- Lead the delivery of marcomms projects, working with our platform partner from prioritisation through to implementation.
- Ensure the successful delivery, execution and continued optimisation of our personalisation engine to deliver the best in class engagement and functionality for our audiences.
- Conduct A/B testing, and optimise campaigns based on data-driven insights.
- Lead our audience requirements, working with internal stakeholders on the implementation of any new data integrations that will enrich customer profile, segmentation, personalisation and targeting.
- Have the opportunity to support the implementation of a new software addition to our marketing tech-stack.

**Qualifications**:
**You are**:

- An experienced Marketing Automation specialist who is a self-starter with a strong knowledge of building complex, multi-stage customer journeys and automations in SFMC. (experience in a subscription business will be highly regarded).
- Demonstrated understanding of SQL, AMPScript, HTML, and perhaps some experience with APIs.
- Knowledgeable on CRM principles and marketing tech/architecture including performance metrics, channels, audience management and best practice.
- Able to approach things with a fresh perspective and confidently communicate directly with peers and senior stakeholders.
- Energised by taking on complex problems and using critical thinking and available data to drive high-end commercial and customer outcomes.
- Able to perform in a rapid, dynamic environment where critical thinking, creativity and confidence are highly valued.
- Equipped with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work tasks autonomously to meet campaign deliverables.
- Intermediate understanding of A/B and multivariate testing: generating ideas, building hypotheses, launching robust experiments, and using the results to find the true customer insight and recommend an outcome.
- Experience with Marketing Cloud Personalisation and/or a CDP is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications are a bonus.
