We are seeking an experienced Retail Business Manager to join the Sales Operation team to lead a team of experienced Area Sales Managers and provide high levels of support for the Independent Network across SA & NT through a comprehensive understanding of retailer needs.

This role focusses on driving sustainable mutual sales growth through strong operational standards and identification of sales opportunities. This position will also play an active role in the account management of a selection of key MSO groups.

What you’ll do
- Lead the operational excellence program across SA/NT to ensure consistently high operational standards & compliance against food safety regulations across the independent network
- Identify & execute both short
- and long-term sales plans to grow retailer sales & margin
- Executional responsibility for strategic initiatives as aligned by all national and state retailer representative groups
- Coach and develop the Area Sales Manager team through highly constructive leadership styles
- Ensure constructive two-way communication between Metcash and the Independent Retailer network
- Foster long-standing relationships with all independent retailers

What you’ll bring
- 3- 5 years’ experience leading and developing people; coaching and mentoring staff to build capability
- Industry experience e.g. FMCG or worked in a supermarket or operations capacity
- Experience with stakeholder management; building and maintaining relationships with a diverse groups and stakeholders both internally and externally
- Knowledge and experience of inducting new team members and building cohesive teams
- Experience executing on strategic priorities
- Experience using sales data and analytics to generate insights, provide business solutions and influence decision making
- Travel required between regions and to Northern territory
