ABOUT THE ROLE
- Champion and contribute to IT’s database management through performing tests and evaluations regularly to ensure and maintain data security, privacy, and integrity.
- The data administration function has the responsibility for tracking, for each data element: data and data definition ownership.
- Provide guidance and leadership to business staff on the proper use of data.
- Set standards for database management, analyse current state, and conceive desired future state.
- Manage database design and delivery deadlines for the development and implementation of new databases.
- Provide end user support during and after implementation in conjunction with the Support Team
- Build and maintain productive and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Extract and analyse data as required to support the business. Experience with data extraction, transformation & loading (ETL) disciplines and tools.
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Regular monitoring of all critical database processes (e.g. SSIS packages, etc) on a daily basis to minimise impacts to Acquire business unit operations.
- Produce or assist with the production of management reporting with reporting tools such as SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau and other BI tools.
- Provide quality support and service delivery to internal clients, including being responsive, ensuring clients are kept informed and meeting required timeframes.

ABOUT YOU
- Experience with managing databases such as Postgres, MariaDB and MySQL.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and advanced SQL.
- Experience with database migration and database upgrades.
- Ability to perform both database performance tuning and monitoring.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and displayed initiative.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
- Any project management methodology exposure is viewed favorably.
