Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

**Early Childhood Educator - Diploma (Kindergarten)**

**Hourly Rate**:$30.58 to $32.05 (rate dependent on level of experience)

**Closing**:Friday 26 September 2025

**Part Time**(31 hrs 40 min p/w) **- Permanent**

Greater Shepparton City Council’s Children’s Services have a Diploma position available at our Mooroopna Children & Families Centre. This position is currently based in our 4-year-old Kindergarten room. Session times for 2025 are 8:30 - 4.00pm Monday and Tuesday and 9:00 - 2:00 Wednesday - Friday. There is also additional non
- contact time in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Employees Agreement.

The role will be supported by Greater Shepparton City Council’s Early Years Department and further supported by ‘Our Place’ on site which is an initiative of the Colman Education Foundation. Ongoing professional development and training opportunities are a strong focus. The role will support the kindergarten teacher and team to foster a holistic, play based curriculum whereby the children’s interests, culture and abilities are the foundation for developing each child’s confidence to succeed.

Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
- Current CPR - HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
- Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Protecting Children - Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood
