**About the Centre**

Casey RACE is the premier Health & Fitness facility in City of Casey. Opening its doors in 2009 and is owned by the City of Casey, and managed by YMCA Victoria. The facilities on offer are vast and we cater for people of all ages and all levels of fitness. The centre houses a Health Club, 2 Group Fitness Rooms, a Crèche, Indoor 50m Pool, Indoor Warm Water Pool, Spa/Sauna/ Steam Room, 2 large Water Slides and on site Café. RACE on average has 3500+ members and 2400 Swim Lessons Student. The centre receives over 1,000,000 visits annually.

**About the role**

The position as a YMCA Teacher in Charge is vital in ensuring the learn to swim program works coherently each night, ensuring every child is given the opportunity to learn and develop essential swimming and water safety skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

The TIC will demonstrate the exceptional leadership skills required to lead a team of teachers and a thorough understanding of the relationships required between YMCA staff and the families attending swimming lessons, to ensure long-term participation. You will be required to maintain one teaching shift per week, alongside their shift as a TIC.

The TIC will work closely with the Aquatic Coordinator to maintain and develop one of the largest Learn to Swim Programs in Victoria.

You must hold a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety License or Equivalent, working with Children’s check and First Aid qualification.

This is a casual position and the hourly rate is $35.59 + Super.

**About you**

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher

**Essential Qualifications**
- First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain before commencing)
- Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification

- Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
- Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
- Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
- Teacher of Adults
