**The opportunity**

We're looking for a Credit Modelling Analyst to join the Lenders' Mortgage Insurance team in Sydney. As a Credit Modelling Analyst, you will help increase the level of automated decisioning and modelling capability within the business. You will also help provide strategic insights to the business through data and analytics.

We are open to Junior Analysts, with an academic background in Mathematics/Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics or Data Science. You'll have strong communication skills and be willing to learn about Financial Services and Insurance. It is an advantage if you have any experience with predictive modelling and consumer lending (mortgages) but it is not required.

**Your new role**

A day in the role may look a little bit like this;
- Oversee the ongoing enhancement of a business rules engine
- Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of predictive scoring models
- Report on model performance and alert the business of any significant deviations from expected results
- Identify opportunities and develop solutions to improve underwriting efficiency
- Monitor industry and regulatory developments to ensure credit tools are robust and compliant
- Assist in development of reports that provide strategic insights using data and analytics

**About you**

To be successful you will have a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics/Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics or Data Science with an interest in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance. You will also preferably have;
- Exposure to modelling techniques and machine learning
- Ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data and resolve complex issues
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to programming (SAS, Python and/or SQL)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proven project management skills
