**The Position**:
As a Senior Practitioner in Mindset Horizons, you will be connected with a local and statewide team of Mental Health Practitioners, Peer Practitioners, Practice and Capability Lead and other Mindset Program Leaders, as well our Baptcare Family and Community Services Teams. This role is based in our Moonah Hub, with working from home arrangements available for some administration time.
This role provides direct supervision to Mental Health Practitioners working in our Southern Mindset Horizons team. Horizons provides short-term, psychosocial services for adults experiencing severe and episodic mental health conditions by supporting people to build skills, strategies, and resources to support their mental wellbeing and work towards their goals.
The Horizons Senior Practitioner is responsible for providing supervision for their team, managing caseloads, developing and maintaining professional and community networks, particularly in rural and remote areas, and ensuring continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice in the delivery of the service.
**This role involves**:
Provide clinical supervision, education and support for assigned team members
Provide “on-call” support to staff as needed to manage practice issues, including assessing and providing immediate direction around risky or complex situations that arise, including recognizing the need for mandatory reporting and/or accessing emergency services
Coordinate client allocation, ensuring that case loads are appropriate to meet the needs of clients, along with ensuring work distribution is appropriate for practitioners and program requirements
Utilise a comprehensive understanding of program guidelines and reporting requirements, and ensure all team members are aware of targets and program operational procedures to fulfill all quality and accountability requirements of their role
Lead and participate in projects as needed, that inform or contribute to program development, including working groups for quality improvement actions, meeting accreditation standards and operational planning
Work with Mindset leadership and broader FACS leadership teams as required to contribute to the operation of the local hubs and respond to needs as they arise
Manage and lead community engagement and outreach through active participation in local sector meetings, events and initiatives
Undertake the recruitment of staff in alignment with FACS recruitment processes
Develop and deliver program-specific onboarding and induction training for new employees, as well as ensuring completion and comprehension of Baptcare onboarding requirements for all employees
This is a permanent 0.8 role.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
Demonstrated ability to manage people, including excellent supervision skills, ability to develop and manage performance and provide constructive feedback and advice
Proven experience and understanding of the skills required to work effectively with people who experience mental ill-health, and use this practical knowledge to provide advice and direction to practitioners, including understanding of managing and responding to risks through safety and wellness planning and responding appropriately to complex situations
Able to confidently develop and maintain networks with appropriate stakeholders, that support the effective delivery and ongoing development of the program/s while representing Mindset in a professional manner
Actively participate in and contribute to operational planning, quality improvement and risk management activities
Exceptional ability to manage time and prioritise tasks and responsibilities with limited direction

**You must also have**:
A relevant tertiary qualification in mental health, community services, clinical health services, psychology or other health fields.
The right to work in Australia.
Australian Driver’s Licence.
Satisfactory National Police Clearance (will be completed post-interview for applicants moving onto next stage of recruitment)
Current Working with Children Check
Competency in using the range of Office computer packages
**Desirable**:
A minimum three years’ experience working with people who experience mental ill-health
Demonstrated experience in staff management including supervision, performance development and performance management
