Leadership Centre - Project Officer

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Project Officer in the Leadership Centre.

The Leadership Centre is responsible for providing advice on leadership development available to the workforce, managing a number of leadership initiatives and services, and provides strategic input with relevant stakeholders on leadership development across all career streams. Since the establishment of the AFP Leadership Centre (LC) in 2018, we have been focussed on developing individuals, teams and organisational leadership across the AFP. The role works closely with the Team Leader and other Project Officers within the Leadership Centre in ensuring the planning, delivery and coordination of all deliverables are achieved within agreed timeframes and budget. The role requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining effective working relationships. We are looking for someone who works well in a team and fosters a cohesive and cooperative environment to ensure priory tasks are met across the team. Application of project management methodologies to meet outputs in the most effective and efficient manner is required for this role.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

The Band 5 will work as part of a small team reporting to the Team Leader. The team will be integral in the organisation and delivery of various Leadership Programs. The work may include:
Managing leadership initiatives such as the external 360 feedback process for TL/EL, the AFP Coaching Network, New Horizons speaker series, Leadership Centre toolkit & Core Leadership Continuum Modules;
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of ongoing leadership initiatives;
Contributing to or implementing new leadership initiatives as required by the Learning Command;
Supporting the Team Leader with daily activities including assisting with a range of corporate services tasks, including procurement;
Managing sensitive information with a high degree of integrity and professionalism;
Monitoring progress of projects and briefing the Team Leader if deadlines or milestones may be impacted;
Maintaining currency in work processes through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process.
Essential Requirements

Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Contemporary knowledge and experience in a like or related field.
A proven ability to work flexibly and achieve outcomes in a fast paced, ever changing and/or challenging environment.
Desirable Requirements

Certificate IV in Project Management or extensive work experience in project management is highly desirable
