Vetwest Canning Vale is a leading and busy veterinary clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets in South Perth. Our team is committed to ensuring the well-being of our furry friends and providing them with gold standard healthcare. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Animal Attendant to join our dynamic team.

About the Role: As an Animal Attendant you will play a crucial role in providing excellent attention and support for the animals under our care. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animals, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a casual role, and Saturday availability is ideal. Your shifts would range from Monday to Saturday between 6-10 hours per shift.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist veterinary staff in handling and restraining animals during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in animal housing areas and throughout the clinic.
- Monitor and provide basic care for hospitalised animals, including feeding, toilet walking and preparing patients to be discharged.
- Assist with routine tasks such as cleaning cages, sterilising equipment, organising supplies, packing away orders, keeping the clinic stocked, sweeping and mopping floors, keeping up with the laundry and more.
- Greet and assist pet owners, providing exceptional customer service and answering basic queries.
- Support the veterinary team in various tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

**About you**:

- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary or animal care setting is ideal but not essential.
- Strong passion for and understanding of animal welfare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm and professional nature.
- This position would suit someone who is currently studying in a veterinary related field or who would like to get their foot in the door in the industry.
