**The Role**
As a Security Advisor, you will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The main responsibilities for the Security Advisor role are:

- Identify, research and analyse complex protective security issues, and provide recommendations and advice to stakeholders.
- Understand the security risk context within the Defence environment to provide advice on complex protective security objectives.
- Develop productive and effective relationships with suppliers and other government agencies.
- Collate, research and analyse protective security issues to prepare and give compartment briefings.

- Strategic planning, program and project management
- Policy development

As an APS 6 Security Advisor, you may be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and mange workflows.
