**The Department**
Monash Registries operate from the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. The School has broad expertise in applied clinical and public health research. Its core skills of epidemiology, biostatistics and data management support extensive research programs aimed at reducing suffering, preventing illness and improving quality of life. The School's research program takes place in settings ranging from remote communities and workplace to intensive care units.
**The Role**
This position sits within the National Gynae-Oncology Registry (NGOR), which is part of the Cancer Research Program at Monash University. The Cancer Research Program primarily works to create and maintain clinical quality registries with a view to improving quality of care and cancer outcomes. The NGOR is a clinical quality registry that collects information about the diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of those diagnosed with gynaecological cancers. Findings can be benchmarked across the sector and against evidence-based best practice guidelines, which can then assist in the continued refinement in quality of care.
You will have strong academic skills in addition to having a keen interest in women’s health, cancer research, and improving quality of care for women diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. You’ll have a good eye for detail and excellent communication skills. The NGOR Program Coordinator will provide support to the National Gynae-Oncology Registry (NGOR), and will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Leading peer-reviewed publications and academic conference presentations
- Compiling literature reviews and budget proposals for potential funding opportunities/grant writing
- Liaising with external stakeholders, such as potential funders, clinical collaborators and hospital teams.
- Project design and supervision of students in an academic environment
- Preparing and submitting progress reports to funders and external stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining project documents to progress the registry’s goals
- Assisting in the preparation of the registry’s Annual Reports and other outputs
- Helping to maintain the registry’s communication platforms (e.g. via social media)
- General administrative duties such as organising meetings
- Working in close collaboration with the NGOR team and stakeholders to meet grant milestones.
**Skills**
The position requires:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in a health-related field.
- Research project management experience.
- Experience working within a hospital or healthcare system including a demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to perform high-volume tasks to meet deadlines, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Well-developed communication skills, including a proven ability to produce a range of clear, succinct documentation and interact with a diverse group of colleagues and project stakeholders.
- Sound computer literacy (e.g. using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and administrative skills.
Desirable skills:
- Experience using REDCap.
- Experience in health policy development and data linkage.
- Experience working with clinical registries or similar.
