Disability Support Worker

We are looking for fit, **male** Support Workers with clear spoken and written English to support children and young people with varying disabilities. We are currently looking for Support Workers willing to work in two locations, in-home in Beaconsfield and at our Respite Facility in Officer.
We are Armytage Childrens Retreat, we provide Respite [STA] on a small farm in Officer, Victoria along with In Home Care/Community Participation. We are looking for some new superstar support workers to join our quickly growing team. We primarily support children and young people; with our company-wide focus being supporting individuals with high behaviours of concern and intensive support needs.
The role is supporting participants in their everyday tasks (personal care, cooking, assisting with emotional regulation) along with general cleaning and engaging in activities. The participant we are currently requiring additional supports for is non-verbal and non-communicative. There has been a recent intensive focus on increasing the ability to communicate and extensive training will be provided to all new staff.
We are looking for staff who have a great understanding of Autism and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders, are able to stay calm in stressful situations, and are reliable and willing to work afternoons/weekends. You will also need a current Victorian Drivers Licence along with your own car & insurances as transportation of the participant will sometimes be required.

Pay: $26.30 - $55.73 per hour
