Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Team Leadership & Management-Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales
associates, warehouse staff. Provide ongoing training on product knowledge, sales
techniques, and customer service to ensure high performance. Address any team
conflicts or issues promptly, ensuring a positive, collaborative work environment.
2. Customer Service & Sales Excellence
- Offer expert product consultation and
guidance to customers on tile and Bathware selection, ensuring they find products
that fit their style, budget, and needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with
retail customers and trade clients, such as builders, contractors, and designers.
3. Product Management & Merchandising
- Manage inventory levels, place orders
for new stock, and track deliveries. Create functional, attractive showroom displays
to showcase products effectively and inspire customers.
4. Financial & Budget Management
- Track sales performance and profit margins,
adjusting strategies as needed to maintain store profitability. Ensure accurate cash
handling, daily reports, and proper reconciliation of tills.
5. Project Management for Commercial & Trade Clients-Coordinate Builder orders
and special projects for commercial clients and contractors, ensuring all customer
specifications are met. Oversee timely deliveries and installations, ensuring all
products are delivered on schedule.
6. Compliance & Health and Safety
- Enforce workplace health and safety protocols
to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers. Manage product
returns, exchanges, and warranty issues according to company policies.
7. Time Management & Organizational Skills
- Manage daily store operations,
including staff scheduling, order processing, and delivery coordination.
8. Staff Recruitment & Development
- hire and train staff with knowledge of tiles,
Bathware. Run training programs provided by Head office with the team.
Qualification and Experience
Relevant Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in retail management, preferably
in the home improvement, tiles, or Bathware industry. Experience managing a team and
overseeing store operations is essential.
Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of tile and Bathware products, materials, and
industry trends. Experience with bathroom design, installation processes, or building
materials is highly desirable.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage staff performance,
and resolve conflicts effectively.
Customer Service Excellence: A strong background in delivering exceptional customer
service, with a focus on providing expert advice and resolving customer issues.
Financial Acumen: Experience managing store budgets, sales targets, and inventory, with a
solid understanding of profit and loss management.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software,
and basic Microsoft Office or similar programs. Knowledge of design software is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
engage customers, collaborate with suppliers, and lead a team.
Workplace Health & Safety: Knowledge of safety standards and regulations relevant to
retail operations, particularly in the context of tile and Bathware products.
